Overview of all Union County Programs

Overview
Union County Elite FC currently administers two soccer seasons per year: Fall and Spring.  The soccer year runs from August 1st through June.  The Fall season typically runs from August  through October.  The Spring season typically runs March through May or early June.  Depending in the players interest in off season participation, there are various camps and leagues available throughout the winter.  Registration for the Fall season starts in June, while the Spring season registration starts in January (this is true for all programs except Elite FC and Elite FC U8 Academy).  Elite FC registration for tryouts are during the month of May/June.

In addition to the recreational soccer program, Union County Independent Soccer League (UCISL) sponsors teams in the Elite FC program including the Elite FC U8 Academy as well as teams that participate in Middle School Soccer Association (MSSA) and High School Soccer Association (HSSA).

Union County Independant Soccer League - UCISL Program
Recreational soccer is a great place to start a child that has never played soccer before. It is also a wonderful program to have a child in that wants to play soccer for the fun of it without the competitive side to it. UCISL registers players twice each year, typically starting in January and June. Recreational players range in age from 3 to 11 years of age and can register to play UCISL with the exception of players entering middle school (6th,7th & 8th grade).  Those players are encouraged to play MSSA. Any person that registers online and meets the age criteria is accepted regardless of where they live - as long as there is room on a team. Recreational teams are formed based on gender, age, years of experience, and coach evaluations.  UCISL makes every attempt to place players on a team.  We do not take requests to be on a certain team or to be with a certain coach or player.  All teams are coached by parent volunteers.  Coaches set the day and time for practices.  Games are played on Saturday mornings.  Games and practices are all held at UCJRD on County Home Rd.

MSSA Program
Middle School Soccer Association is for participants that are in 6th, 7th and 8th grade.  MSSA is an upper recreational program. MSSA teams are coached by parent volunteers. Teams are formed based on participants and volunteer coaches.  We can form boys, girls, and co-ed teams. MSSA plays teams from other communities in the Central Ohio area.  The game schedule is made by MSSA, but subject to change. Coaches can adjust schedules to field and team member availability. Week day games may be out of division but closer to home while weekend games tend to be in division and may travel anywhere in Central Ohio.

MSSA teams compete in an end of season tournament.  The tournament last 2 weeks starting the Monday after the regular season ends. League determines time and place.  Tournament concludes on Sunday of the second weekend with the championship game in each division.

HSSA Program
High School Soccer Association is for participants that are in 9th through 12th grade.  HSSA is an upper recreational program.  HSSA  plays teams from other communities in the Central Ohio area.  This program is offered in the Spring only.

HSSA teams are coached by parent volunteers. The league is co-ed. Games are played various days throughout the week.  There are typically 5 home games and 5 away games. The schedule is made by HSSA, but subject to change. Coaches can adjust schedules to field and team member availability. Week day games may be out of division but closer to home while weekend games tend to be in division and may travel anywhere in Central Ohio.
HSSA teams participate in an end of season tournament.  League determines time and place.

U8 Academy Program
Players are maintained in training groups and play non-results-oriented competition against other club academies participating in the Ohio Champions League. While it is requested that all interested players participate in the tryout process, all players that are committed to the goal of development will be accepted. The Elite FC U8 Academy is designed as a training ground and to create an environment where individual player development is paramount. The team trains twice a week with 1 to 2 games per week.

Elite FC Travel Soccer
The most competitive program is the Elite FC teams. Evaluators determine the best players (age groups U9 - U12) available based upon their performance at two successive nightly tryouts held specifically for each age group. Elite FC  teams are formed by contacting the best player and inviting them to play on a team, then contacting the next best player and so on until a complete team is formed. Should a sufficient number of players try out more than one team is formed in each age group. Selected players are expected to play for the team for one year (Fall and Spring season) and then must tryout and make the team again the next year. The teams play in the Mid Ohio Select Soccer League (MOSSL) and the Buckeye Premier league (BPYSL) against other teams in Central Ohio. During the year, the team will play a Fall and Spring season, attend training camps, participate in tournaments locally and also requiring travel and may participate in Winter leagues at indoor facilities. Professional Trainers coach Elite FC Club teams.
